Q-Free wins major contract for Australian tolling system upgrade
The deal, which is claimed to be the company’s largest in the country since it began operations there in 1999, includes the replacement of equipment on 37 gantries and a 12-year service and maintenance agreement.
The Norwegian mobility solutions provider will design, develop, supply and implement the system, which will replace non-Q-Free equipment.
Silje Troseth, Q-Free’s vice president for Asia-Pacific, said: “It’s rewarding to see our efforts to expand our presence and market share through globally recognised technology and local expertise beginning to bear fruit.”
This is the seventh major project Q-Free has undertaken in Australia in the past five years.
Previous projects include the Sydney Harbour Bridge and Tunnel, Transurban’s Cross City Tunnel in Sydney and the Legacy Way in Brisbane.
