Emovis expands tolling infrastructure in Québec

Emovis expands tolling infrastructure in Québec
Provider of toll-based mobility solutions Emovis is set to expand its presence in Canada by enhancing its tolling infrastructure in Québec.

The development aims to further support and streamline tolling operations for thousands of motorists utilising one of the province’s most prominent highways.

The A-25, which Emovis first deployed an all-electronic tolling (AET) solution on in 2017, largely spans the Lanaudière region, and includes a vital toll bridge connecting the cities of Montreal and Laval.

In 2023, more than 19 million motorists crossed the bridge, with 84.4% of users registered in the system.

Emovis is now preparing to undertake a comprehensive system upgrade that will see the installation of new AET equipment, scheduled to go live in 2025.

“We are thrilled to expand further this project and implement upgrades designed to optimise operational performance, while improving user experience and reinforcing the overall efficiency of the tolling network of the A-25m,” said Christian Barrientos, CEO of Abertis Mobility Services – Emovis.
